Pastors and Deacons Meeting, Friday, May 29, 2020

The Pastors and Deacon’s met to discuss the prospect of opening Grace Baptist Church for public meetings beginning June 7th, 2020, following the guidelines for outdoor assembly as given by Governor Jay Inslee.

The Washington State guidelines stipulate that the outdoor gatherings be no more than 100 people on church owned or adjacent property. The following are the significant guidelines that have been established by the Pastors and Deacons for establishing outdoor services beginning on June 7th:

1. The Pastors and Deacons unanimously agreed to start regular weekly outdoor services on June 7th, 2020. The Sunday services will be morning services only. We will also hold Wednesday evening services. (details below)
2. In keeping with our tradition, Communion will be celebrated on the morning of June 7th.
3. The Sunday morning services will start at 9:30 am, in order to worship together before the temperature gets too hot. Wednesday evening services starting on June 10th will be as follows:
    a. 6:30 pm --- Teen program
    b. Regular Bible Study and prayer will start at 7:00 pm. The Wednesday evening services will not be recorded.
Children’s Church programs will be provided for both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services; however, no Nursery will be provided for these outdoor services.
4. The services will be held on the large open lawn area, south of the church building.
5. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided for all attendees.
6. Water will be available for those who need or want it. It is permissible to bring your own beverage ( i.e. coffee, soda, etc.)
7. The service will be sound enhanced with speakers, etc., and the Sunday morning services will be recorded for those that are unable to attend and want to hear the message on Grace Baptist’s web site or by getting CDs of the message. The messages should be available on GBC’s web site by 11:30am on the day of the service.
8. We ask that you not come to any of these outdoor meetings if:
    a. You or your children are ill, or have been sick in the week prior to the service; or
    b. If you are in a “high risk” category for catching COVID-19, Corona Virus; or
    c. If you are known to have COVID-19 virus or have been directly exposed to an infected person.
9. Seating may be limited, so it is requested that you bring your own folding lawn chair. If you have none, folding Church chairs will be provided. Bring a blanket for seating and a hat, or umbrella for shading, etc. if you want.
10. These will be outdoor meetings, so please check the local weather forecasts for conditions that might cause us to cancel the service.
11. Restrooms will be available inside the Church building for limited occupancy, based on the Washington State “social distancing” guidelines.
12. It is requested that everyone dress appropriately and modestly for outside services. (Note that the Pastors, Deacons and Ushers will probably not be dressed in suits and ties)
